It had been a wonderfully peaceful day. A gentle breeze pulling the salty ocean air into the warm sunlit marsh, reeds and cattails growing taller than the raised wooden paths in places and boghogs lazing underneath in the boardwalks. His own market stall had been a bit off to the side and a mix of sun and breeze had made the perfect napping conditions – intermittently interrupted by customers and old friends either checking out his merchandise or to catch up. That had been hours ago now, however. The sun was barely peaking over the horizon and without it’s warmth the air had turned biting. Groggoms were now stalking the waters below and small lightbugs were flitting about the stalks. Calipso almost wished he’d stayed at the tavern where it was bright and warm and loud, almost. He knew he wouldn’t regret his choice once he made his way home and got to see his parents and siblings and cousins and Old Marsha (a large old boghog that he almost believed would outlive the farm itself).
